// About

I grew up in the Valley.
I'm building what I wish existed.

From the RGV to Amazon to founding an AI startup — and back again. This is the story of why I'm here.

// The story

Where I come from.

I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. Same story a lot of people down here know — you're surrounded by hardworking, resourceful people, but there's no infrastructure to turn ambition into something bigger. If you want to build a career in tech, you leave.

So I left. I went to Texas A&M, got my degree in Technology Management, and started grinding. Houston first — insurance, consulting, logistics, payments. Then I landed at Amazon, where I helped launch an AWS IoT product used by enterprise customers worldwide. After that, DoorDash — shipping features to millions of users and mentoring the next wave of engineers.

Now I'm a Founding Engineer at an AI startup, building a platform from scratch on AWS GovCloud and leading a team. I write code every day. I ship every day. I live in the tools that are changing how software gets built.

Along the way, I saw what real tech ecosystems look like. In Seattle, you can't throw a rock without hitting a hackathon, a coworking space, or someone raising a seed round. Austin is the same — meetups every week, accelerators on every corner, a culture where building things is just what people do.

The Valley has none of that. But it has everything else — the people, the hustle, the hunger. What's missing is someone to light the match.

That's why I started buildrgv. Not because it's a good business idea (though it is). Because I know what it's like to grow up here and feel like the ceiling is low. I want to rip the ceiling off.

Years at the Highest Level

Amazon, DoorDash, and now a founding engineer at an AI startup. I've built products used by millions and led teams that ship.

RGV

From Here, For Here

Bilingual. From the Valley. I understand this community because I grew up in it. This isn't outsider charity — it's coming home to build.

AI

Building with AI Daily

I don't just talk about AI — I build with it every single day. I know the tools, the workflows, and what's actually possible right now.

Now

The Window Is Open

AI just leveled the playing field. For the first time, anyone with an idea can build. The Valley is ready. The timing has never been better.

“I've seen what a startup ecosystem can do for a city. The Valley deserves one.”
